Introducing Kōtuitui: Weaving together Te Tauihu’s for-purpose sector

We’re pleased to share a new chapter in our journey.

Te Tauihu Community Development Agency is now Kōtuitui.

This new name reflects our core purpose and the shared vision for collective impact across Te Tauihu.

Kōtuitui means to weave together or to interlace. It captures our commitment to bringing together the strengths of our communities, the for-purpose sector, and the eight iwi across the region.

While our name is changing, our focus remains the same. We continue to support and strengthen the for-purpose sector across Nelson, Tasman and Marlborough.

Why Kōtuitui?

Kōtuitui reflects how we work and what matters to us — connection, collaboration and shared understanding.

Our role is to support collective approaches that respond to community needs and contribute to intergenerational change. By weaving together different perspectives and experiences, we help create space for respectful kōrero, shared learning and collaboration across Te Tauihu.

Each community is unique. At the same time, there is strength in recognising what connects us and learning from one another.

Our work

Kōtuitui supports the for-purpose sector by bringing people together and creating opportunities to connect, share and collaborate.

Our mahi is guided by Te Kawenata, which sets out the principles that underpin how we engage with communities and with each other. These principles help ensure our work is grounded in care, respect and partnership.

What’s ahead

Over the coming months, you’ll see the name Kōtuitui reflected across our communications and resources.

We are also redeveloping our website to become a shared digital hub for Te Tauihu’s for-purpose sector. This hub will bring together:

  • Events

  • Resources

  • Training opportunities

  • Partnership information

  • Relevant data

All in one place.

A key feature of this new hub will be the Kōtuitui Weave — a dedicated space for peer-to-peer connection. It will enable sector leaders and workers to safely share insights, ask for support and collaborate across Nelson, Tasman and Marlborough.

Stay connected

We welcome news, events and stories from individuals and groups working to strengthen our communities and whānau.

If you’d like to stay informed or be part of what’s coming next, please email news@tetauihucommunity.org

Together, through Kōtuitui, we’re weaving stronger connections across Te Tauihu.
