We are growing - meet our new kaimahi
We’re thrilled to announce the appointment of two outstanding wāhine into our inaugural team roles at Te Tauihu Community Development Agency (TTCDA) – a region-wide initiative to strengthen collaboration, resource sharing, and strategic alignment across our for-purpose sector.
Morag Ingram joins us as Pou Hononga, leading communications and engagement, while Amber Brown steps into the role of Pou Āwhina Whakahaere, supporting our operational backbone, systems, and learning functions.
These roles are foundational to our mission. As Pou Hononga, Morag will help us weave strong relationships across the region and amplify the stories, voices, and insights that move our sector forward. As Pou Āwhina Whakahaere, Amber will build the systems, rhythms, and practical supports that allow us to deliver impact reliably and with integrity.
Together, they bring deep values alignment, regional knowledge, and a strong commitment to equity, whanaungatanga, and kaupapa Māori approaches. Their combined skill sets reflect the heart of what TTCDA is here to do: enable the for-purpose sector in Te Tauihu to thrive — with shared purpose, collective capability, and a louder, more unified voice.
Below, you’ll hear from Morag and Amber directly — sharing who they are and what drew them to this kaupapa.
We’re excited for you to meet them, and for what we can all create together.
MORAG INGRAM - Pou Hononga
My heart has been with the for-purpose sector for 25 years, beginning when I first supported pro bono clients in PR. That experience laid a foundation of understanding and commitment that continues to guide my work today. Over the years, I've developed as a leader with experience spanning communications and management roles across both public and private sectors. Living in Riwaka with my family, I'm deeply committed to fostering the growth and development of Te Tauihu for future generations. I believe in the power of community and the importance of the work we do together. To play my part in that, I bring strategic communications expertise, political understanding, and relationship-building skills to TTCDA. More importantly though, I bring a real appreciation for the vital work happening across our sector. I look forward to meeting and connecting with many of you in the coming months, and learning more about the mahi, outcomes and people that inspire you.
AMBER BROWN - Pou Āwhina Whakahaere
Kia ora, I am Amber Brown. With over 12 years of experience in project and program management in the for-purpose sector across diverse communities in Aotearoa, Asia, and the Pacific, I’ve seen the impact that well-designed, values-based initiatives can have when grounded in strong relationships and local leadership. My work has spanned everything from early-stage design through to implementation, monitoring, and reporting, always with a focus on practical systems, cultural responsiveness, and collaboration. I’ve recently relocated to beautiful Nelson with my husband and our seven-year-old, and I’m excited to put down roots and contribute to the thriving for-purpose community here in Te Tauihu. I am especially looking forward to supporting collective impact and helping organisations do their best work.
